Job Summary:
Assists the genetics team in achieving its mission by performing both clinical and administrative tasks that coordinate the care for patients referred to genetics.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a biological/health science or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:: NA
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of medical and healthcare terminology. High quality customer service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with computers and related software applications. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to interact with diverse populations. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processes incoming referrals including gathering pertinent information, presenting cases at triage, and assisting with scheduling as needed.
- Completes patient intakes by obtaining patient and family medical history and assists with technology related to telehealth visits.
- Serves as a liaison between clinical genetics providers and the patients/families and/or outside providers.
